A painted high street of small shops: a bakery, a café with people at tables, a painter on a ladder redoing a shopfront beside a nail bar, a van and a skip, and a man walking three dogs.

See your new site before you decide.

  1. I put a few designs together

A few different designs for the top of your new homepage, the part people see first. I’ll send them over with a short video walking you through them.

  2. You pick your favourite

Tell me which one you like best, or say none of them are right and I’ll have another go. If you would rather leave it there, that’s fine and it has cost you nothing.

  3. I build the rest

If you want to go ahead, I’ll build out the rest of the site around the design you picked and have it live within a week.

Recent sites.

  • The Nick Hume Photography homepage: a murmuration of starlings over the reeds at sunset, under the heading Out at first and last light.

“I can put new photos on the site straight from my phone, usually while I’m still sat in the hide.”

Is this for me?

Yes, if your website mainly needs to explain what you do, where you work and how people can get hold of you.

  • Dog groomers
  • Photographers
  • Salons
  • Gardeners
  • Builders
  • Cleaners
  • Etc.

Probably not, if

Your website changes every day, or you need to manage stock levels or products yourself. You’ll need a different sort of website from the one I build.

Six people who run local businesses, standing in a row: a dog groomer holding a fluffy dog, a gardener leaning on a spade, a photographer holding a camera, a builder with timber on his shoulder, a hairdresser with scissors and a comb, and a window cleaner with a squeegee and bucket.

Who’ll be building your site.

I’m Sam. I build and look after every Website Studio site. If something needs doing, you email me and I sort it.

  • No ‘agency’
  • No ‘sales team’
  • No ‘account manager’

Things you might be wondering.

Is there anything extra to pay?

No setup fee and no VAT. The £99 a month covers the build, the hosting and the changes. The only other cost is your web address, which you buy and renew yourself, usually for a few pounds a year. Shops, bookings and extra pages are quoted before I start on them. The fee is reviewed each April, by no more than 10%, with a month’s notice.

What if I already have a website?

I’ll move it across for you. If I need a login or your say-so on anything, I’ll ask as I go.

What if I want to leave?

Give me a month’s notice. There’s no exit fee. Your web address and your content stay yours, and I’ll send you the site files, though another designer will usually rebuild the site their own way rather than use them.

What do you need from me?

Your business name and what you do. I can use what’s already public about you for the designs, so there’s nothing to prepare.

How and when do I pay?

Nothing until you’ve picked a design and want to go ahead. Then I send you a short form about your business, and GoCardless, who handle the payments, take your first £99 and set up a Direct Debit for £99 a month after that. You see the whole site before it goes live, within a week.

Do I need to have a call?

No. It’s all done by email, with the odd short video when something is easier to show than to write.

Let’s see what your new site could look like.

I’ll put a few designs together for the top of your new homepage and send you a short video walking you through them, usually within a few days. It’s free, and there’s no sales call or commitment.

I use what you send here to reply to you and to put your designs together. Sending it does not commit you to anything. The privacy page (opens in a new tab) says how I handle it.
